This is my new personal blog!

I’m back again blogging on wordpress.com after a long long time. I use the wordpress engine on my main blog. But then for a long time, tumblr has been my blogging engine of choice for my personal blog. That is, until today. But I didn’t want to let go off my posts..Thanks to Hao Chen’s Tumblr to WordPress import tool!

I decided to leave tumblr behind to return to one of my older wordpress.com blogs. As a personal blog, an easy to post interface is what made me shift to tumblr in the first place. But, wordpress with its power blogging features has brought me back. So in the strict sense this a blog for me to open my heart to anything and everything that could interest me. Read the about me for more.

This blog is more of a journal and place for me to post interesting stuff online. Oh! its 7 PM. Time for dinner!! And btw,Subscribe to the RSS. If you don’t use RSS, add this site to your bookmarks..Why? because life is more interesting than just technology 😉

The Header image on this blog shows the Astoria Megler Bridge, one of the longest bridges in North America. I loved long drive just the way I have always loved my long drives 😉 Leave your comments and drop by often!

A blog post!

This is merely a blog post for the sake of making a blog post which was posted so that I would feel that I had blogged and had not blogged for a long time now. There is nothing more to this blog post than being just an ordinary plain blog post which does not explain, clarify, discuss, preach, tutor or do anything else. A blog post of this order is meant to be nothing but simply a post stating that it was blogged by its author in an effort to ensure that his readers were entertained.

Thanks for reading the blog post of this author which was written up just to make a blog post.

Why you shouldn’t be blogging?

  1. You cannot become popular on the internet just like that. Internet’s just like real life. requires hard work, dedication and luck.
  2. Deal with the real life. That’s easier. Atleast its tangible.
  3. Blogging requires your time, precious time which can be spent with your family, which can be spent on more useful pursuits in life.
  4. Yes of course, it makes sense if you are serious about it.
  5. Comments on your blog do not mean anything. No matter how many you get. People online comment whenever they feel strongly about something that’s it.
  6. As a hobby is just as good as gardening. You love the flowers and the shrubs. Maybe someone will appreciate them as well, but gardening is better.
  7. Blogging allows you to write what you feel like. Its just about writing essays online and it does make you feel good
  8. All this has been written with no scientific base or truth other than my own beliefs and views.
  9. I’ve read a lot of posts which say you must leave comments to receive them. But is that what you want? reciprocatory comments?
  10. This blog post was more for me than for you.

PS. Stop stumbling. you are not getting anywhere!

Tumblr vs WordPress.com

I decided to make this blog after I decided to see if WordPress still feels as good as it did when I left it few months ago…I was looking for a place to post my rantings, but then my tech blog doesn’t let me do that. I always do not happen to have the time to update my tech blog…

So I open an alternative blog with tumblr. But then tumblr is quite restricted in the functionality that it offers…So now when I get a new domain, where should I link it up to? Tumblr? I really don’t think so..but I don’t feel like installing wp on another domain…so maybe I should link it up to this blog? Not that it makes any difference though…

But unlike wordpress, tumblr lets you customize your blog to no end…and all wordpress.com gives you is the standard interface and a few default themes which you can’t even edit…huh…Now where am I left at? I would love a new blogging platform…hmmm….

Posted this one using Tumbla. Great interface, lets you post to your tumblr directly from your mobile. Even quotes! The mail service doesn’t let you do that… And for the photo, its a Dark Knight Pop corn pack, didn’t feel like throwing that one away….

Barcamp Chennai

Barcamp chennai. Hmmm..I doubt I can make it to that one..but if it were on a weekend maybe..If it were at some place comfortable. not too near the city…not too far away…

A place to share your ideas, concepts, blogs, videos, apps..in short everything..A place where everyone participates. Let’s see where the venue is. Maybe I would be able to make it. Maybe I might even share stuff? If anyone knows anything about the elusive Barcamp do let me know. And yeah, there are a lot of ways to contact me…

Should ask the Blogholics anonymous members whether they would make it to the barcamp….

All right, got the dates 18-19 October 2008  Hmmm, saturday and sundays, now I guess I have no excuse. I wish it was a nice place. If it were, I might most certainly go.
